Ixtlán del Río is a municipality and the municipal seat located in the Mexican state of Nayarit. It serves as a primary administrative center for its surrounding region.
The municipality covers a total area of 581.4 km2 (224.5 sq mi). As of 2018, the population of the municipality was recorded at 33,289, while the municipal seat itself had a resident population of 35,180.
