Zamora de Hidalgo is a city located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It serves as the municipal seat of the Zamora Municipality, which covers an area of 330.97 km2 and encompasses various smaller communities, including Ario de Rayón.
As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 141,627, making it the third largest city in Michoacán. The broader municipality has a population of approximately 186,102, identifying it as the second most populous urban area in the state.
