Villa Madero is a town located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It serves as the municipal seat for the municipality of Madero.
The settlement was established in 1868 under the original name Cruz de Caminos, which derived from its location at the intersection of paths leading to Acuitzio, Etucuaro, Curuchancio, and Tacambaro. The land occupied by the town originally belonged to La Hacienda De la Concepcion.
Local tradition identifies a man named Armas as the first inhabitant and the founder of the town.
