Purépero de Echaíz is a town located in the northwestern region of the state of Michoacán, Mexico. It serves as the municipal seat for Purépero and is situated within the middle of the Tarascan Plateau.
The town is positioned approximately 113 km from Morelia, the state capital. It shares borders with Tlazazalca to the north, Zacapu to the east, Chilchota to the south, and Tangancícuaro to the west.
