Erongarícuaro is a town located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Its name translates to "Place of waiting" in the Purepecha language. The municipality has an estimated population of approximately 7,000 people.
The town is situated within a region accessible by road, located about an hour's drive from Morelia or Uruapan. It is also positioned roughly 25 minutes away from the colonial town of Pátzcuaro.
