Chavinda is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It sits at an elevation of 1,572 metres and is situated approximately 196 kilometres northwest of Morelia and 282 kilometres southeast of Guadalajara.
As of 2015, the population of Chavinda was 10,258. The municipality is located near Zamora, one of Mexico's quaintest towns, which lies 28 kilometres to the east.
