Ario de Rosales is a city and the municipal seat of the municipality of Ario, located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality covers a total area of 694.60 square kilometres.
The region is bordered by several neighboring municipalities: Salvador Escalante to the north, Tacámbaro and Turicato to the east, La Huacana to the south, Nuevo Urecho to the west, and Taretán to the northwest. According to the 2005 census, the municipality had a population of 31,647 inhabitants.
