Teotihuacan is an ancient Mesoamerican city situated in a sub-valley of the Valley of Mexico. It is located within the State of Mexico, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) northeast of present-day Mexico City.
The site is recognized as one of the most significant archaeological locations in the region, representing a major center of Mesoamerican civilization.
