Temoaya

Temoaya is a municipality located in the State of Mexico, Mexico. The town of Temoaya serves as the municipal seat and ranks as the sixth largest town within the region. Geographically, it is situated approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) from Toluca and 85 kilometres (53 mi) from Mexico City.

The municipality is notable for its large ethnic Otomi population and the presence of the Centro Ceremonial Otomí. Additionally, Temoaya is recognized for a local tradition of producing Persian-style rugs that incorporate traditional Mexican designs.
