Temascalcingo is a municipality located in the northwestern region of the State of Mexico, Mexico. It is one of 125 municipalities within the state, and its municipal seat is the town of Temascalcingo de José María Velasco.
The name Temascalcingo originates from Nahuatl and translates to "place of the little temazcal." Historically, the temazcal has been very common in this area. The municipality is also recognized as one of the "Pueblo con Encanto" (Town with Charm) designations within the State of Mexico.
