San Francisco Acuautla is a city located in the eastern part of the Estado de México in Mexico. It is situated approximately 4 kilometers from the county seat of Ixtapaluca.
The municipality is bordered by Coatepec to the north and the suburbs of Ixtapaluca and Ranch San Andrés to the south. To the east, it borders the town of Manuel Avila Camacho and the suburbs of Tlapacoya Ayotla, while the Magdalena Atlicpa lies to the west.
