Otzoloapan is a municipality situated in the southeastern region of the State of Mexico. It is positioned in the southwest part of the state and shares a border with the state of Michoacán.
The name Otzoloapan originates from the Náhuatl word "Oceloapan," which translates to "river of lynxes."
