San Mateo Mexicaltzingo is a town and the municipal seat of the municipality of Mexicaltzingo. It is situated in the State of Mexico within the country of Mexico, located in close proximity to the city of Toluca.
The name Mexicaltzingo is derived from the Náhuatl language, translating to "Place in where the honorable mexica inhabit."
