Juchitepec is a municipality located in the southwestern region of the State of Mexico in central Mexico. The municipal seat is the city of Juchitepec de Mariano Rivas. The name Juchitepec translates to "Hill of the Flowers" in Nahuatl, and the municipality covers a total area of 149.56 km2.
The municipality borders Tenango del Aire, Tepetlixpa, Ozumba, and Ayapango within the State of Mexico; it also shares boundaries with Totolapan and Tlalnepantla in the state of Morelos to the south, and the borough of Milpa Alta in Mexico City to the west. Aside from the municipal seat, the area contains one major community known as San Matias Cuijingo.
As of the 2010 census, Juchitepec had a total population of 23,497 inhabitants. The local economy is primarily driven by commerce, with additional significant economic activities including agriculture and livestock.
