Tepatitlán de Morelos is a city and municipality located in the central Mexican state of Jalisco. Founded in 1530, it is situated in the Los Altos de Jalisco region, approximately 70 km east of the state capital, Guadalajara. The surrounding municipality covers an area of 1,400 km2 and is part of the Bajío macroregion.
The city is characterized by several notable architectural landmarks, most notably its Baroque-style parish church dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi located in the center of the city. Other significant sites include the Temple of San Antonio, a kiosk on the Plaza de Armas in the downtown area, and the city hall, which is recognized for its distinctive neoclassic-baroque style.
