Talpa de Allende is a city and municipality located in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is situated within a landscape characterized by surrounding mountains covered in pine trees.
Founded by the Spanish in 1599, the town serves as a silver mining center. The name "Allende" was given in honor of General Ignacio Allende.
