Tula de Allende is a town and one of the 84 municipalities located in the state of Hidalgo in central-eastern Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 305.8 km² (118.07 sq mi) and serves as a regional economic center. It is recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in Mexico.
The municipality includes several smaller outlying towns, with El Llano, San Marcos, and San Miguel Vindho being the largest. According to the 2010 census, the total population of the municipality was 103,919, while the built-up area consisting of the Atotonilco de Tula, Atitalaquia, and Tlaxcoapan municipalities housed 188,659 inhabitants.
Tula de Allende is most notably known as the home of the Tula archeological site. This historic location is famous for its Atlantean figures, which are significant cultural and archaeological landmarks of the region.
