Metepec

Mexico

Metepec is a municipality located in the State of Mexico, situated directly to the east of the state capital, Toluca. It sits at an altitude of 2,635 metres (8,645 ft) above sea level and forms part of the Greater Toluca region. The center of Mexico City is located approximately 50 km further to the east.

The name Metepec originates from the Náhuatl language, where it means "hill of the agave plants." Additionally, the location is known as "Nepinta-Tuhi," meaning "people of corn land" in the Matlatzinca language, and by the name "Ntaguada" in the Otomi language.
