Ixmiquilpan

Ixmiquilpan is a city and one of the 84 municipalities located in the state of Hidalgo in central-eastern Mexico. It is situated in the central western part of the state on the Mexico City/Nuevo Laredo Highway at kilometer 170.

The town is notably recognized for its parish church, the Church of San Miguel Arcángel. This structure contains a significant series of murals created by native artists during the 16th century. These artworks depict pre-Hispanic imagery, including scenes of Eagle and Jaguar warriors in battle.
