Huejutla de Reyes

Mexico

Huejutla de Reyes is a city located in the state of Hidalgo in central-eastern Mexico. It serves as one of the 84 municipalities within the region.

The name of the city originates from the Nahuatl words "huexotl," meaning willow, and "tlan," meaning place. The suffix "de Reyes" was added to commemorate Antonio Reyes Cabrera, a local cobbler who died in 1866 while defending Huejutla against French invaders.
