Tixtla is a town located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Tixtla de Guerrero.
The name Tixtla originates from Nahuatl and has several possible meanings depending on the linguistic interpretation. These include "maize dough" (masa) derived from textli, "our valley" from to ixtla, or "temple by the water" from teoixtlen.
