Pilcaya is a town and the municipal seat of the municipality of Pilcaya located in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It is situated within a region accessible from several major hubs, including Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Toluca, and Taxco.
The town's name originates from the Nahuatl word pilcacyan, which translates to "place of a hanging object." Geographically, it lies approximately 5 kilometres from Ixtapan de la Sal.
