Chilpancingo

Chilpancingo de los Bravo is the capital and second-largest city in the Mexican state of Guerrero. Located in the south-central region of the state, it is situated within the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains along the banks of the Huacapa River.

The municipality covers an area of 2,338.4 km² (902.9 sq mi) and had a population of 187,251 as of 2010. The city is positioned on Federal Highway 95, which serves as a primary transit route connecting Acapulco to Mexico City. Transportation in the area is supported by Chilpancingo National Airport, one of five airports located within the state.
