Uriangato is a city and one of the 46 municipalities located in the state of Guanajuato in west-central Mexico. It is situated just north of the border between the states of Guanajuato and Michoacán.
The city is geographically united with Moroleon and Yuriria to form a metropolitan area. As of October 2010, this metropolitan area ranks as the 75th largest city in Mexico and the 5th largest in the state of Guanajuato. It is currently recognized as the smallest of the 56 metropolitan areas in the country.
