San Jose Iturbide

San José Iturbide is a city and municipality located in the Northeast region of the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Situated within the Sierra Gorda range, the municipality covers an area of 534.11 square kilometres. Its name serves as a tribute to Saint Joseph and Agustín de Iturbide, who was the first Emperor of Mexico.

The municipality is bordered by San Luis de la Paz and Doctor Mora to the north, Tierra Blanca to the east, the state of Querétaro to the south, and San Miguel de Allende to the west. According to the 2005 census, the population of San José Iturbide was 54,661 inhabitants.
