Guanaceví is a town located in the northwestern region of the Mexican state of Durango. It serves as the municipal seat for the municipality of Guanaceví, which recorded a population of 9,851 during the 2015 Census. The town itself had a population of 2,908 in the same year.

The area is characterized by its extensive mining operations, which produce various minerals including gold, silver, and brass. Additionally, the region maintains diverse culinary traditions featuring local dishes such as sopes, enchiladas, chapaneco, tezhuino, queso, and chiles rellenos.
