Cuauhtémoc was the Aztec ruler (tlatoani) of Tenochtitlan from 1520 to 1521, serving as the last emperor of the Aztec Empire. He is also known by several other names, including Cuauhtemotzín, Guatimozín, and Guatémoc.
The name Cuauhtemōc translates to "one who has descended like an eagle," a phrase often rendered in English as "Descending Eagle." This name evokes the imagery of a raptor diving toward its prey.
