Tecomán is a city and the seat of the municipality of Tecomán located in the Mexican state of Colima. It is situated approximately 50 km south of the city of Colima near the coast on Federal Highway 200. The municipality covers an area of 834.77 km² (322.31 sq mi) and was recorded as having a population of 112,726 in the 2005 census.
The city is recognized as the third-largest community in the state of Colima and serves as a significant hub for agricultural industries. It is notably known as the "lime capital of the world." However, the region also gained notoriety in 2016 when it was identified as the deadliest municipality in Mexico due to its high homicide rate.
