Comala is a town and municipality situated in the Mexican state of Colima. It serves as the municipal seat for the Comala Municipality, which governs over 400 communities, including the former Nogueras Hacienda, the residence of artist Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo. Geographically, it is located near the state capital and is recognized as the northernmost and second smallest municipality in the state.
The town is known for its distinct aesthetic, earning the nickname "White Village of America" because its building façades have been painted white since the 1960s. Its historic center was designated a Historic Monument Zone, and the town was officially declared a Pueblo Mágico in 2002.
