Colima, officially known as the Free and Sovereign State of Colima, is one of the 31 states that comprise the 32 federated entities of Mexico. The state shares its name with its capital and primary city, also named Colima.
Located within the Mexican federation, the region serves as a distinct administrative and geographical entity. It remains a recognized constituent part of the country's sovereign territory.
