Viesca is a town and the seat of the surrounding municipality of the same name located in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila. The settlement was named in honor of José María Viesca, who served as the third governor of Coahuila and Texas.
According to the last census, the population of Viesca was 19,328 residents. This demographic breakdown consisted of 9,695 men and 9,633 women.
