Palau, officially known as the Republic of Palau, is an island country located in the Micronesia subregion of Oceania. It is situated in the western Pacific Ocean and consists of approximately 340 islands.
The nation occupies the western part of the Caroline Islands. The eastern and central portions of this archipelago comprise the Federated States of Micronesia.
