General Cepeda

Mexico

General Cepeda is a city and the seat of the municipality of General Cepeda located in the north-eastern Mexican state of Coahuila. The town was originally known as San Francisco de los Patos until 1892, at which point it was renamed in honor of Victoriano Cepeda Camacho, who served as a general and a governor of Coahuila.

Historically, the town served as the headquarters for two of the largest estates in the Americas. In 2023, the Mexican government designated General Cepeda as a Pueblo Mágico, a title recognizing its specific cultural and historical significance.
