Valentín Gómez Farías was a Mexican medical doctor and liberal politician who served as the president of Mexico on two separate occasions. He first held the presidency from 1833 to 1834 during the era of the First Mexican Republic.
He returned to the presidency later in his career, serving from 1846 to 1847. His second term coincided with the period of the Mexican–American War.
