Urique

Urique is a town and the seat of the municipality of Urique located in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. Situated in the southwest corner of the state within the region of the cliffs, it serves as the principal village of its namesake municipality.

The town is positioned at the bottom of the Barranca de Urique valley, which was formed by the river of the same name. Due to its relatively low elevation above sea level, the local climate in Urique is characterized as being close to tropical. As of 2010, the population of the town was recorded at 1,102.
