Nonoava is a town and the seat of the municipality of Nonoava located in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua. The settlement was established in 1676 on the right bank of the Nonoava River by the Jesuit missionary Francis Artuaga.
The town was originally named Nuestra Señora de Montserrat de Nonoava. According to census data, the population of Nonoava was 1,209 in 2005 and grew to 1,272 by 2010.
