Cuauhtémoc is a city located in the Chihuahua region of Mexico. It shares its name with the historical figure Cuauhtemōc, who served as the last Aztec emperor (tlatoani) of Tenochtitlan from 1520 to 1521.
The name Cuauhtemōc is derived from the Nahuatl language and translates to "one who has descended like an eagle," often rendered in English as "Descending Eagle." This imagery evokes a raptor diving toward its prey.
