Ixtapa is a resort city located in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is situated adjacent to the Pacific Ocean within the municipality of Zihuatanejo de Azueta.
The city is positioned approximately 5 km (3 mi) northwest of the municipal seat, Zihuatanejo, and roughly 245 km (150 mi) northwest of Acapulco.
