Ciudad del Carmen, also known as Carmen, is a city located in the southwestern region of the Mexican state of Campeche. It is situated on the southwest portion of Carmen Island, which sits within the Laguna de Términos along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
The city's geographic coordinates are 18.63°N 91.83°W. According to census data, the population grew from 154,197 in 2005 to 169,466 by the year 2010.
