Mosul

Mosul is a major city located in northern Iraq. It serves as the capital of the Nineveh Governorate and is situated on the banks of the Tigris River.

As the second largest city in Iraq after Baghdad, Mosul is notable for its historical significance. The ruins of the ancient Assyrian city of Nineveh, which was once considered the largest city in the world, are located on the east side of the modern city.
