Abu Ghurayb is a city located in the Baghdad Governorate of Iraq. It is situated just west of Baghdad's city center and northwest of Baghdad International Airport. The old road to Jordan passes through the city.
The Iraqi government established both the city and the Abu Ghraib District in 1944. As of 2025, the city has a population of approximately 900,000 residents.
