Saddat al Hindiyah is a town located in Iraq along the Euphrates River. It is situated approximately 80 km south of Baghdad and lies just south of the city of Musayyib. As of 2018, the town had a recorded population of 33,900.
The name of the town is derived from the Arabic word for "Indian." This etymology refers to the dozens of Indian manual laborers imported to the region by the British following World War I. These workers were brought in specifically to labor on the area's extensive agricultural lands.
