Al-Qurnah is a town situated in southern Iraq, located approximately 74 km northwest of Basra within the Nahairat conglomeration. The settlement is geographically significant as it sits at the confluence point where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers meet to form the Shatt al-Arab waterway.
The area is noted for its cultural and religious significance in local folklore. According to these traditions, Al-Qurnah is believed to have been the original site of the biblical Garden of Eden and the location of the Tree of Knowledge.
