Haditha is a farming town located in the Al Anbar Governorate of Iraq, situated approximately 240 km (150 mi) northwest of Baghdad. The town is positioned along the Euphrates River and serves as a primary residential area for a population of around 46,500 people, who are predominantly Sunni Muslim Arabs.

The town is notable for its proximity to Buhayrat al Qadisiyyah, an artificial lake created by the construction of the Haditha Dam. This dam represents the largest hydroelectric facility in Iraq.
