Mahilyow, also known as Mogilev, is a city located in eastern Belarus. It serves as the administrative center of the Mogilev Region and holds the status of the third-largest city in the country.

The city is situated on the Dnieper River, positioned approximately 76 kilometres from the border with Russia's Smolensk Oblast and 105 km from Bryansk Oblast. As of 2025, Mahilyow has a population of 352,896, reflecting significant growth since an estimated population of 106,000 in 1956.
