Yacuiba

Bolivia

Yacuiba is a city located in southern Bolivia, serving as the capital of the Gran Chaco Province within the Tarija Department. Situated at an elevation of 620 to 680 meters (2,034–2,231 feet) above sea level, the city is positioned just three kilometers from the Argentine border.

The city has a population of approximately 97,000 and is recognized as one of the fastest-growing cities in Bolivia. This rapid expansion is attributed to significant growth in commerce and a boom in hydrocarbon exploitation. Historically, Yacuiba was part of Argentina's Salta Province until it was ceded to Bolivia in 1900.
