Getting from the Airport
There are two airports serving the region, each with different proximity to the main urban center. Zunyi Xinzhou Airport is the closest airport to the city's primary urban area; a special bus service connects this airport directly to the city center.
Zunyi Maotai Airport is located further away and is primarily convenient for travelers whose itinerary includes visits to Renhuai City or Maotai Town. This airport offers bus connections to both of those specific locations.
Rail and Regional Transit
Zunyi serves as a major stop on the Guiyang-Chongqing rail line. The city's main central railway station, Zunyi Railway Station, is located in the Honghuagang District. This station is well-connected to local transit; there is a bus stop located directly outside the station that serves multiple routes and also serves as a stop for the airport bus.
The rail line is highly active, with dozens of trains operating daily between Zunyi and the neighboring cities of Guiyang and Chongqing. Most of these are high-speed trains, providing relatively quick travel times from both neighboring hubs.
Local Bus Network
Zunyi features a developed bus network to move passengers throughout the city. While the system is extensive, visitors should note that buses can become crowded during peak rush hours.
Taxis and Ride-Hailing
Taxis are an available option for getting around the city. Due to the relatively small size of Zunyi, taxi fares typically remain low; unless traveling to locations far outside the city center during rush hour, fares are generally modest.
Walkability and Local Geography
While Zunyi is a somewhat hilly city, it remains manageable for pedestrians. Most major tourist sites are located within easy walking distance of one another. Because of the local terrain, bicycles are less common in the area than in other cities.
Future Infrastructure
While currently in the planning stages, a rapid transit system is intended for the city's future infrastructure.
