Orientation and How the City Connects
Huanggang sits directly across the Yangtze from Ezhou, and the two form a single built-up area. Many residents of this combined area work in Wuhan, the provincial capital, which lies to the west. That relationship shapes the transport network: Huanggang is well connected outward to Wuhan and along the river corridor, and its internal network is oriented around the Huangzhou urban core.
Two bridges link Huanggang to Ezhou on the south bank: the Ehuang Bridge, which carries China National Highway 106 between the main urban area and Ezhou, and the Edong Bridge, which carries the G45 Daqing–Guangzhou and G50 Shanghai–Chongqing expressways.
