Best areas to stay in Faridabad
1. Surajkund Road area
This area lies near Surajkund and is where you find larger, more full-service places to stay, including hotels with conferencing and banqueting facilities. It suits visitors who want space and services, and travellers whose trip is built around the Surajkund side of the city rather than the industrial sectors.
It is not on the Metro corridor, so you will depend more on road transport to reach the Metro stations and the rest of the city.
2. Sector 20B / New Industrial Town, around Bata Chowk
New Industrial Town, in Sector 20B along Mathura Road in Krishna Nagar, is an established part of the city with a Metro station, Bata Chowk, directly on the Violet Line. Staying here puts you on a direct rail link to Delhi and to the other Faridabad stations.
This suits first-time visitors and anyone who wants to move around without a car. It is also the practical choice for the New Industrial Township addresses along Neelam Bata Road and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, where you find hotels with air-conditioned rooms, in-house laundry and room service.
3. Sector 31
Sector 31 is a serviced-apartment and hotel area, with furnished serviced apartments alongside rooms and suites and conferencing facilities. It suits longer stays, families, and business travellers who need more space and a kitchen-style setup rather than a single room.
As with Surajkund Road, this is a road-based location rather than a Metro one, so plan on taxis or driving to reach the Metro and the city's other districts.
4. Greater Faridabad (Neharpar), Sectors 75 to 89
Greater Faridabad, the area between the Agra Canal and the Yamuna, is the newly developed residential and industrial part of the city. Sectors 66 to 74 are industrial and Sectors 75 to 89 are residential. It is being developed as a self-sustained sub-city with wide roads, tall buildings, malls, educational institutions, and health and commercial centres.
This suits travellers who want newer residential surroundings and are happy to be based away from the old city and the Metro corridor. It is the least convenient base for reaching the Metro stations and the established sectors, so it works best if you have your own transport or a reason to be on this side of the canal.
Where to stay on a budget, mid-range or splurge
- Budget: simple air-conditioned rooms in the established sectors, particularly around New Industrial Town and the Neelam Bata Road area, where hotels offer attached bathrooms, television and room service at the lower end of the market.
- Mid-range: rooms and suites in Sector 31 and similar locations, often with laundry, conferencing and banqueting facilities, and serviced apartments for longer stays.
- Splurge: larger full-service hotels on Surajkund Road near Surajkund, with extensive facilities and more space, suited to travellers who want services on site.
Best area for a first visit
Base yourself around Sector 20B and New Industrial Town, near Bata Chowk. It is the only area in this guide with a Metro station on the Violet Line, which connects you directly to Delhi and to the other Faridabad stations, and it sits along Mathura Road in the established part of the city. For a first trip, that combination of rail access and everyday city surroundings is the most practical starting point.
