Chi Linh
Introduction
Chí Linh is a ward of Hải Phòng in Vietnam. During the French colonial period it was known as Sept Pagodes, a name that points to the pagodas that have long shaped the area's identity.
Three days in Chi Linh
Day one: Arrive in Chí Linh and get your bearings in this quiet corner of Vietnam. The town sits within easy reach of Hải Phòng, so you can use it as a base while you adjust to the pace of the place. Spend your first afternoon walking the streets and noting the mix of influences left during the French period, which still shape parts of the town's character.
Day two: Give the day to the area's spiritual side. The Sept Pagodes is the landmark to seek out, and it rewards a slow visit rather than a rushed one. Take your time among the buildings and grounds, then return to Chí Linh for an evening meal and an early night.
Day three: Use your last day to fill in whatever you missed, whether that means revisiting a favourite spot or simply wandering without a plan. If your onward travel takes you toward Hải Phòng, leave enough time to make the journey without hurrying. Three days is enough to see Chí Linh properly and leave without feeling you rushed it.
